"National Boundaries and International Exchange" Studies on Scientific and Cultural Transfer in Europe (Text in German) The volume assembles the papers held at a symposium organized by the Heinrich Heine Institute (Düsseldorf), in October 1992, in cooperation with the Equipe Transferts Culturel of the CNRS (Paris) and the Istituto Storico Italo-Germanico (Trent). These papers deal with the processes of cross-frontier cultural and scientific transfer fromt the 18th to the 20th century (with special emphasis on the 19th century). The contributions range from individual views to broader overviews. The approach is not only international but also interdisciplinary, ranging from literature to historiograpyh and the history of scientific institutions. Der Band faßt die Beiträge eines Symposions zusammen, welches das Heinrich-Heine-Institut (Düsseldorf) vom 20.-22.10.1992 in Verbindung mit der Equipe Transferts Culturels im CNRS (Paris) und dem Istituto Storico Italo-Germanico (Trient) durchführte. Gegenstand sind die Prozesse des grenzüberschreitenden Kultur- und Wissenschaftstranfers vom 18. bis zum 20. Jahrhundert (mit einem Schwerpunkt im 19. Jahrhundert). Sie werden anhand von Fallbeispielen, aber auch in größeren Querschnitten untersucht. Neben die internationale Ausrichtung tritt die interdisziplinäre. So reicht das Spektrum der Aufsätze von der Literatur über die Geschichtsschreibung bis zur Geschichte von Wissenschaftsinstitutionen und Naturwissenschaften.
