Southern Tajikistan, a region of Central Asia, whose archeology was not very well known until the last decades of 1900, hosted between the second half of the 3 rd and the beginning of the 1st millennium BC. an agricultural, sedentary civilization and a nomadic culture, from whose interaction a mixed, nomadic-sedentary, culture originated. The site of Kangurttut, whose excavation of the phases of the Late Bronze and Early Iron Ages is described here, was part of the farming culture between the middle of the 2 nd and the beginning of the 1st millennium BC. The excavations of Kangurttut have revealed a settlement and a necropolis. The finds described here highlight the dialectic between nomads and sedentaries and the formation of the mixed culture.
